One Lucky Woman!
by: Georgia

Luck is looked at as "when you have an outcome that, in some way, benefits you or the person involved." It's easy to look at the tiny moments and say, "I'm lucky that worked out", but what about the other moments that are much bigger that you don't notice as luck? The moments that you never say you are lucky for? The moments that exist just because you worked hard for them, did it, had it, was it, became it? Was there luck involved?
I would suggest that Luck is intertwined with action and your point of view.
The other day I was driving my two boys to their elementary school. There are two elementary schools one block apart from each other. We passed a very young dad (22-23 years old) with a very young boy on their way to the neighboring elementary school. The dad had a tiny bicycle that had "trick pegs" on the back wheel. This tiny little boy was standing on the pegs and holding his arms around his dad's neck. My immediate thought was, "Oh dear…that's really dangerous!"
They were riding through a freeway underpass with sloped sides to it. The dad was riding his bike up just a little onto the sides and then back down to the sidewalk. I slowed down because I didn't know where they would end up. As I passed, I looked at that little boy all bundled up in his warmest coat and gloves. I noticed that HUGE grin on his face, his love for his dad, and that exact moment shone as bright as the sun. I realized that those two might not be lucky in a lot of peoples' eyes, but in that moment, they were the luckiest 2 people on earth!
In that moment, I realized how lucky I am to be a mom, a woman in business, a sister, a daughter, a wife. And for all the women in my life who have inspired me to become who I am today.
It took time to become a mom…2 ½ years of trying to get pregnant to finally have a tiny little egg growing inside of my tummy. What luck!
It took time to become a woman in business…almost 19 years and a lot of work. What luck? How did I know a tiny gift would turn into a company that would help millions, and employ and support so many and their families? That's got to be luck!
It takes time to nurture your relationships as a sister and as a daughter. What lucky moments had to happen to allow me to enter this amazing (not perfect-yet still amazing) family?
What luck that my husband said "yes" when I asked him for a ride on his motorcycle? And what luck when I said "yes" when he asked for my phone number?
What luck we all have through all of our Lessons in this beautiful life?
Luck, it's here and we all experience it. It's beautiful, fun, hard, and painful at times. But it's always worthwhile! Just like you!
Love, Georgia...
